Selected Websites for Nursing

The Lavery Library at St. John Fisher College in Rochester has an extensive list of recommended websites for nursing students. You can access the list at http://library.sjfc.edu/nurs.asp.

Check out the Public Library of Science, http://www.plos.org/.

On the right side of the page, you can see that PLoS has many different journals ~ Biology, Medicine, Computational Biology, Genetics, Pathogens, Clinical Trials and Neglected Tropical Diseases. The journals in PLoS are “open access” which means that they are available free online. You can read, download, copy and distribute these articles in any way you wish, as long as you give credit to the authors.

Another great website is Science.gov, http://science.gov/. The website, sponsored by the Federal Government, is your gateway to over 50 million pages of authoritative science information.
